Life & Death: Two Sides of the Same Coin

May 27th, 2013

In many of my talks and radio interviews, I have often discussed some of my experiences in helping souls in transition. While my work is mostly devoted to helping the living evolve and grow into greater health and wholeness, as is everyone’s birthright, I have had my share of experiences regarding the transition of souls. Sometimes I work with individuals to help them prepare and go through their imminent transition. Although it certainly can be a difficult thing for some to accept at first, there comes a time when one can begin to more gracefully embrace the experience.

Just as birth is an amazing and intense process, death is equally amazing and intense—to a point. There are moments when all suffering stops and one is able to clearly experience the freedom from pain and fear, yet still be present within the body. It always happens, even if it appears to be only a fleeting moment to others who may be present. (I know, because I have gone though all of it myself, in my own death process–what is commonly considered to be a near death experience.) I have also witnessed this occurring for others at precise moments before their ultimate transition.

And what a powerful moment that ultimate transition is! In the balance between life and death there is a common thread or essence that binds the two into one. Like the two sides of a coin: One side is heads and the other is tails. Each has its own uniquely expressed form and design that appear to be very different. But if you turn the coin horizontally, you will see that the two sides are united by something in between. Not only that, but that “something” is also the element that the two sides are made of. It is never separate. It gives rise to, permeates, and sustains the unique expressions of each side. That is why when asked the question, “What’s it like on the other side?” my answer is always, “I don’t know. As far as I could tell there is only one side–just differently expressed values of that one essence as we continue to create, however/wherever we exist at any given moment.”

I have witnessed birth and death and there is a moment of transition that is indistinguishable. Whether coming or going, there is a continuation of life within that eternal essence. You could say that “in the end, there is no end…”
