How to Prepare for Your Session

March 30th, 2010

Should I rest during this time? If you have the time to rest during the session, all you need to do is either lie down on a comfortable bed or couch, or you can sit in your favorite chair, if you like. It is preferable to relax in a space where you are not likely to be interrupted or disturbed by a ringing phone, TV, or other distractions. If something or someone should disturb you, just take care of the situation and continue resting. It will not interrupt the process or diminish the benefits of the session. Also, you may rest on your back or turn onto your side, as you wish. Make yourself as comfortable as possible during this time.

Do I have to think or do anything? During the session, there is nothing you have to think or do. If you happen to be trained in any particular healing methods, meditation, or other such practices, this is not the time to use them. In fact, this is your time to just “be.” Simply be present to whatever is in the moment without any worry of what should, could, or might be. No need to try to keep your mind quiet if there are thoughts. In fact, it is possible that there may be a few more thoughts at first; but as the session progresses, you will probably find that you will settle into a very quiet state after a few moments.

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question! If you find that you are sleepy, that’s great! I have often found that many remnants of stress and trauma residing deep in the subtle layers of the physiology will often be released very quickly during sleep. So sleep is good if it comes. If it doesn’t, that’s fine, too. The benefits will be there in either case.

Will I feel or see anything during the session? You may possibly experience a mild tingling sensation at times, or you may not. You may possibly experience warmth or coolness in different parts of your body, or you may not. And you may even have some visual experience of the Spectrums-perhaps violet, deep blue, or even gold. Or you may not. . .

How do I get the most out of my session? The most important thing to remember before the session is to simply let go, relax, and be present to whatever your experience is. There are no “right” experiences, as there are no predetermined or rigid expectations as to what you should or should not experience. Your physiology and consciousness will lead the way and respond in the most appropriate manner. This is how you can gain the most from your session.

What if I can’t be resting during the session? For those who cannot take the time out to rest during the session, perhaps because it is necessary that you must be in some activity such as work, travel, medical treatment, etc, your physiology will still respond and you will get the benefits of the Healing Spectrums session.
